The flat's aluminium windows had single-point handle locks with insufficient closing force, while the high, wind-exposed position demanded better wind resistance and air-tightness. Amgen replaced the handles and fitted multi-point locks so the sash locks at several points along the edge simultaneously. After completion the locking points engage tightly, improving both wind resistance and air-tightness.
