What is the Mandatory Window Inspection Scheme?
The Mandatory Window Inspection Scheme (MWIS) is a statutory scheme launched by the Buildings Department. Private buildings aged 10 years or more must undergo window inspection every 5 years. Non-compliant owners may face fines and imprisonment.
How long do I have to comply after receiving an inspection notice?
After receiving a Buildings Department notice, you typically have 6 months to complete the inspection and any required repairs, and to submit the completion report. We recommend contacting us as soon as possible after receiving the notice.

What are the eligibility requirements for the elderly repair subsidy?
Homeowners aged 60 or above who own and occupy their property, whose property market value does not exceed a certain limit, and who meet the income and asset means test may apply (single-owner monthly income limit: $10,400). The maximum subsidy is HKD $80,000. Amgen can provide application assistance.
